Home News Gene writes "Wilma came and went but none to quickly--we had several hours of 70-80 mph wind. between the wind, the sounds of things hitting the roof and the breaking of trees, we survived the night. Tina and I both stayed up to the wee hours of the morning, grabbed a few hours of sleep then woke up the have the power go off after the storm was over. 4 days without power, back on for most of our community, still a few generators running. when charlie and Mary move we will definately get our own generator-keep my beer cold. 3 days to clean up yard, my old body certainly feels it, cuts and bruises all over. Should be back in school on monday, what would be called a "working holiday"-putting up pictures if I can remember how."

Home News Gene writes "We have been so busy, we haven't had time to update the site, so here at 5:15 am and a cup of coffee, we will try. Big news is that the Csonka Clan is increasing by one the first of May-thanks to Paul and Gloria, Tina and I will be grandparents. We have dodged the storms so far, but Wilma is out there hopefully to go south of us. Dave and Dan doing OK, hope to go to Orlando and see them in Nov. at Universal Studio's. Get to see Dan's new apartment. I am enjoying "The Sanibel School", I enjoy my new library but with YV production, Yearbook, and Library classes, I am working harder than I have for many years, some days the "kids" are great and some days are "retirement days"."

Home News Gene writes "

Fortunately the storms keep going around us-Katrina got Paul and Gloria with yard damage then went around us to New Orleans..now we have another storm off Miami..hope it keeps going north. School is setteling in--I was just getting use to the drive when gas went to over $3 a gallon. And FSU beat Miami last night--gas will go down ?? and FSU hopefully will get better?? nothing but the usual yard and house work here--been thinking about getting boat back in water but the storms keep coming close--anyway can't afford the gas now!!maybe in a few weekends. Tina keeps me busy with new "honeydo" projects, time to rethink our own storms plans and get ready incase one comes our way. Back to doing school work in the evenings, will it ever end-hopefully soon!!!"

School News Gene writes "Summers over and we are back to school--Tina gets to stay at Estero while I make to trip to Sanibel each morning. After an anxious beginning I am enjoying my days on the Island. New library with all the new "Toys" equipment I could want. Small classes, small school--300 students K--8. never worked with the little ones before but it has been interesting getting down to their level--litterally I am down on my knees showing them how to use the computer. Paul changed jobs, Dave got hired at FSU and Dan starts his sophomore year at UCF. Its very hot here, little rain but no storms---YET.."
