Having fun with Alexa!

Family News Tina writes "On July 6th Gloria and Paul left for a 3 night cruise and happily we volunteered to take care of Alexa! They left during her nap- and when she awakened she just looked at us and seemed to be thinking " Well they are not my Mom and Dad but I will give them a chance." Alexa loved her Grandpa making her bounce and fall in the bounce house, Grandma dipping her in and out of the pool playing "rough seas", and of course smiling whenever the camera came out to capture her in all those special moments... I figured we would see some crankiness one evening but Alexa was just full of smiles and giggles as we played away the weekend. Naw, we did not spoil our granddaughter- Alexa will never tell......"

Family News Tina writes "On May 1 , Alexa became one- year old! Since her birthday was on a Tuesday we could not go over to Miami so we did an I-Chat to share the special event. Gloria and Yoyi planned for the following Sunday a big birthday celebration for Alexa centered around a ladybug theme. All throughout the Armand's home and patio the birthday decor was those cute ladybugs! All the children as well as this Grandma enjoyed playing in the huge bounce house . The crawl through tunnel and the bubble machine was also a big hit with the children! The food was so delicious and it was wonderful celebrating Alexa's birthday with the Armand's family and friends. Alexa just loved her outdoor party!!!"

Family News Tina writes "All of March and right through Easter the temperatures were more like spring in North Carolina with many mornings dipping down to the low 50's. The day before Easter we headed over to Miami which was almost as cool. It was apparent Alexa was ready for walking and wanted to have you hold her hand and walk with her all over the house! She was eating more finger food, 'talking away" and was on the verge of taking off and walking by herself!! Not a little baby anymore......
Easter mass was a lovely service and the visiting pastor was quite humorous and gave us all plenty of chuckles. It was so much fun being with Alexa but my husband decided to whisk me away for the Easter Break! That afternoon we boarded the Norwegian Jewel- a newer ship than the NCL Spirit. We both decided
the Spirit had better service and overall a more luxurious decor. On a positive note the NCL Jewel's food was very good, the Czar dining room was spectacular, the formal pictures were much better than I hoped for, and the cute clownfish carpet in the cabins hallway oriented you to which direction you were walking so I only got lost 25% of the time!!All of our excursions were fantastic. I am sure my husband will want to do another catamaran excursion on our next cruise....
As for snorkeling the Coki Beach Snorkel at St. Thomas was superb. The visibility was excellent and the fish and invertebrates were everywhere!!!

Family News Tina writes "We joined Dan and his college friends for their homecoming game against the East Carolina Pirates last weekend. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon for football with a lovely autumn breeze and clear sunny skies followed by a full moon in the evening as the last quarter came to a close.I went to East Carolina my sophomore year and Gene earned his master's degree there but neither of us ever attended their football games since we never were on campus during the weekends. We cheered for the UCF Golden Knights during the game and I truely thought I would be their lucky charm. No matter- we enjoyed the game and had a great time spending the weekend with our youngest son. We were quite impressed with all the new construction on campus and our looking forward to returning next year for a football game in UCF's new stadium!"

Alexa Comes To Visit

Family News Tina writes "Over the river and through the swamp.... Gloria and Paul brought Alexa over for her first visit to Estero. The meteorologists predicted a rainy day and true to their word it showered off and on all day! But we hardly ever noticed- the day was happily spent playing and feeding Alexa and seeing all the new things she now can do. However, she made sure that Paul and his parents have to wait a bit longer to see an "Alexa Rollover"!! On Sunday, we witnessed and videotaped the birth of baby seahorses .We caught 5 dwarf seahorses out in Estero Bay a week ago and to date 2 have given birth to 32 babies! In the seahorse world it is the males who get pregnant and give birth. What an interesting concept......

In the afternoon we dressed up Alexa in her sexy bikini Cristina got her but with all the rain she did not take a dip in the cool pool waters. Even though we did not see Alexa rollover before she headed back home with her parents she giggled with glee when her granddaddy played with her . You cannot ask for anything more...."
